Great interesting story- hmmm. Red Square itself is a block long, with a block of space leading in and a block leading out. There is enough space to hold a modern LA freeway within!

When I was growing up, Russia and The West were at loggerheads over issues that I had no understanding of at the time. The Cold War was what it was called, which I suppose referred to the fact that each “side” was not actually blowing each other up. It was a chilling time if you thought about it too much as there was, I remember, a lot of “The End of The World is Nighing”!! Around this time in Portsmouth my friends and I actually saw one of those surreal much cartooned subjects: a man walking around with boards draped over his shoulders declaring the fact that our days were actually numbered.

On television there was a lot of posturing with spy ships, they shadowed fleets wandering around purposefully in the North Atlantic exercising for the big day. One event that always left a lasting impression in my mind was…

The kids have good taste in photography.

Brown Car

Nice weather here in seattle. In the afternoon I washed and waxed the car, then drove down to the beach for some sunset photography. Wow I really like the collinite 915, the reflections from shadow are dark and mysterious.

The kids rated the pictures and this was the one they chose as best.

Also, for others that DIY and change bulbs, please be careful of wattage. Too high of a wattage will scorch the lens and lamp.

Brown Car

Picked up car yesterday at Eurotech. Old headlight bucket removed, new one installed. Unfortunately Mark got a new bucket from the dealer, this is a later edition made for the 993 and doesn’t have the brackets attached to it that my car needs. Mark fabricated and welded on brackets, it looks great but that drove up the cost quite a bit.

I checked the work when I picket up the car today I opened it up again to look more closely. Here’s the poor beast with its eyeballs removed. Don’t worry sweety its just temporary.

Mark did a nice job with the paint. Here is the new bucket with new brackets (flash made it sparkle):

Compare with the old:

And finally all put together:

See? Nothing that money couldn’t fix.

In hindsight I should have sourced the bucket myself, I didn’t know the dealer bucket didn’t come with brackets, didn’t know…

The fuel prices are simply stupid. While there is some kind of related political agenda with all of this including job loss, business economy hardships we continue to see big gun businesses purchase “instagram” for senseless gobs of Money? Is this our way of being hinted the rest of all our efforts in business like the motor scooter businesses, bike shops, taco trucks, wallet makers are worth crap? Where and when do we see Eco and even revival efforts which in my views worth more get handsomely rewarded?

very VERY busy mom

With the astronomical price of gas these days, I start to have an anxiety attack each moment my odometer clicks another tenth of a digit. I quickly do the math in my head: if my 15-year old minivan gets 16 miles per gallon of gas and I pay $4.50 for each gallon, I am coughing up over 28 cents for every tenth of a mile. It now costs twice as much in gas to deliver my daughter’s forgotten brown bag lunch than to just make her buy lunch at the school cafeteria. What a dilemma!

When I got my driver’s license in 1978, I remember paying just 64 cents for a gallon of gas. I say this and I feel like the old geezers who complain how when they were kids they used to walk to school uphill both ways. Suddenly I’m older than dirt.

Today, as I near a…
