Many people are consumed with “space.”  How much they want.  How much they need.  Sometimes, as many baby boomers are beginning to learn, it can be liberating to downsize and let go of space.  These tiny home ideas may not work for a primary abode, but how about a backyard escape, a separate office, or a cottage that bucks the trend of being grandiose?

The aptly named Trunk House was designed by Paul Morgan Architects as a weekend cottage in Australia’s Central Highlands of Victoria.  The locally sourced wood features natural splits in its formation, adding a stunning sculptural effect to the home’s exterior while also providing exceptional strength.  The interior is coated with Stringybark boards.
